Ireland is currently adopting the WHO advice of 'test, test, test' in an effort to flatten the coronavirus curve.

Thousands of people are now awaiting Covid-19 tests and test results with centres being rolled out all over the country.

There will be 40+ test centres in the country according to the HSE with a spread around each region to maximise how many people can be checked.

One of Ireland's biggest test centres is the 82,000 seater stadium Croke Park - it is a drive-thru facility with hundreds being tested daily. Also in Dublin, the LE Samuel Beckett, docked on Sir John Rogerson's Quay is testing hundreds of people per day.

There is a major backlog in testing in Ireland with suspected cases being left days before they are swabbed due to the volume of people coming forward wanting to be tested.

The HSE said they are working through this backlog with results turned around in a matter of hours after several hospitals upskilled to become Covid-19 laboratories to process test swabs.
