Portland
UP LDS53 splits the DRGW intermediates outside of Portland, Colorado with an ex-DRGW GP40-2 leading a work train and four cars for Holcim Cement next door. CTC appeared on the route over Tennessee Pass as early as the 1920s, and despite the spectacular demise of the line nearly three decades ago, CTC is still operational between Pueblo and Parkdale. Since most of the signal installations on the Tennessee Pass were looted over the years, this is one of the few places where one can find unmolested GRS Type D signals from the Rio Grande days.
