Like a Rolling Stone
A scene that could have easily been replicated ten years ago. BNSF #1464 and a Warbonnet-painted BNSF Dash 9 lead H-NTWBRC past the 1901 depot at Stone Avenue in La Grange as outbound dinky #1233 departs for Western Springs.
Built as BN #9287 in 1991, #1464 was one of the newer of the 100 SD60Ms delivered to Burlington Northern and came with a two-piece cab. Despite being renumbered twice and shifting in and out of storage lines since the merger, this engine has kept its iconic "BN Whiteface" nose and high headlight, whereas the side of the engine has been plastered with hideous patch jobs.
Needless to say, it was a fun moment on the old BN that day; it's been several years since a BN SD60M has traversed the full duration of the Racetrack.
