Fast Eddie's Bon Air Road House, NIghtclub, Bar / Restaurant @ Night - Entrance - Alton, Illinois - 4/25/09
This place was originally purchased by the Anheurser Busch Co. in 1921. It was sold in 1931 due to the fact that a change in statutes, during prohibition, didn't allow breweries to own drinking establishments. The place was purchased by a father and son and stayed in operation for the next 50 years. In 1981, Eddie Sholar bought the business and made major changes. It is now a destination road house for people of all ages and is one of the largest places of its kind in the midwest. It is extremely popular and well known for it's menu of super low priced specialty foods. Live bands (and real cold beer) attract large crowds on week-end nights; even with numerous expansions, the place is packed, with standing room only. I've read mixed reviews but it sounds like a great menu - unbeatable low prices, big portions, and delectable flavor! Hit the official FE website to get more info!
