İSTANBULLİGHTFEST9113 LR5

2015 is the United Nations International Year of Light, a global initiative which highlights the importance of light and optical technologies in our lives, our futures, and for the development of society. To build upon this initiative and to celebrate light as the source of life, the first Istanbul Light Festival takes place at the Zorlu Center from Friday November 13 to Sunday November 29. Using Istanbul’s premier destination as its canvas, 23 high tech light art installations transform the Zorlu Center temporarily into the world’s largest public art gallery, lighting up the night’s sky, visible from across the Bosphorus.

Like a treasure hunt, spectators will discover the artworks sprinkled across the Zorlu Center; on the square, in the park, at Raffles Hotel, around the Performing Arts Center, the mall, and even in the metro tunnel. The festival is a celebration of creativity, ingenuity and innovation that adds another chapter to the magical light of Istanbul. The program includes workshops and Light Talks. And it is free for all to come experience.
