Schwetzingen
The late baroque gardens of Schwetzingen Castle, near Heidelberg, Germany, planned 1750-1787 by Nicolas de Pigage and other architects for Carl Theodor, Elector Palatine. They comprise almost every element of the imaginary gardens of the "Hypnerotomachia Poliphili." Dates and attributions taken from Oswald Zenker, "Schwetzingen Castle Gardens," 2003.
