Black Panther - 0 - Retrospect
"There was once two lions, the first was clever, so very clever and well spoken. The other was strong and very courageous. Though both brothers were noble, the second always protected the first--"
======================================================
T'Chaka - "S'yan!"
T'Chaka confused, jogged through the Wakandan capitol building. Hours earlier, jeeps had swarmed the perimeter and men began attacking Wakanda. T'Chaka stopped over a large balcony and watched what went down only 30 feet below him. Mercenaries had scrambled to the front door of the capitol building. Two Wakandan guards pulled out guns and fended well. T'Chaka couldn't watch men die, it was too much to bare for his restless heart.
T'Chaka continued down the corridor as the gunfire stopped from behind him. T'Chaka sighed but was then cut short when a large explosion sounded from only 30 feet below. He kept jogging, whoever was attacking Wakanda was prepared.
T'Chaka - "S'yan, wherever you may be, please for the love of the gods be here for me."
T'Chaka was cut short of his mumbling of pleas as a group of mercenaries cut him off.
Mercenary - "WHERE IS THE VIBRANIUM!"
T'Chaka's heart raced.
T'Chaka - "You may threaten the king. But he will not give you the location so easily."
T'Chaka looked behind him as a shadow fluttered across the wall.
Mercenary - "WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOUR GAMES."
T'Chaka smirked, this smirk had always been chiseled on his face when the odds were in his favor.
T'Chaka - "This is not my game."
The shadow animated itself by leaping through the window and kicking the mercenary who threatened his brother right in the head. Making the mercenary flop to the ground, but not before The Black Panther had taken down the other four.
T'Chaka chuckled;
T'Chaka - "You're late."
The Black Panther turns around and cocks his head to the side as he shrugs.
S'yan - "You are still in one piece, brother. Have I not done my job?"
T'Chaka starts running down the corridor as S'yan follows.
T'Chaka - "Where's T'Challa, and Shuri?"
S'yan - "Both are hidden, but considering how stubborn both are."
T'Chaka - "Of course, how did I forget. Neither want to be politicians."
======================================================
"--Though the second had always protected the first from any threat, the Lions were always atop the food chain, it made no sense why one needed protection. No Lion ate another. One day, the strong had figured something the cunning didn't... To a ruthless species, the Lion was not feared. But contested. Metal claws, faster than a cheetah, louder than the clap of thunder. Instantaneous death.--"
======================================================
T'Chaka and S'yan ran through to the bottom of the capitol and both saw the dead.
T'Chaka - "My... God."
S'yan - "I have no clue what is happening. We get rid of dozens yet more come out of nowhere."
T'Chaka stepped into the light, looking upon Wakanda, city ablaze.
T'Chaka - "This must be just a dream."
T'Chaka hears footsteps, he turns to S'yan.
T'Chaka - "Do you hear that?"
T'Chaka turns around to see a man with a large rifle pointing at him, a red laser sets it's sight on his heart.
S'yan watches as the mercenary smirks, the same smirk he's seen on his brother for years.
S'yan - "T'CHAKA!"
S'yan leaps forward as a bullet rips through his arm and into T'Chaka's chest.
S'yan winces in pain but is quick to his feet to defend his brother.
The mercenary catches S'yan's punch and quickly spins and kicks the arm. Throwing S'yan to the ground, he points the rifle at S'yan's other arm. A shot sounds and S'yan cries.
The mercenary walks towards T'Chaka.
Klaw - "Your highness."
T'Chaka lies on the ground in a puddle of blood. Hardly able to open his eyes.
T'Chaka - "You will not... Intimidate us... Wakanda is united... I may not live but the spirits of the living will no--"
T'Chaka is silenced by a bullet as S'yan shrieks.
S'yan - "WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU DONE!"
S'yan lays on the ground, unable to stabilize himself with his arms.
Klaw points the gun at S'yan's head.
Klaw - "Taken my treasure."
The ground cracks as blood seeps into the crevices.
======================================================
"No matter how brave the lions were. In the end, they were the same, just a shell of a lion, not the spirit.--"
The rain pours in Wakanda for the first time in years. The burnt houses and facilities have since been rebuilt. T'Challa backs away from the podium where he spoke, looking at the thousands ahead of him. Then at the graves. S'yan had a red cloth with gold atop of his grave, symbolizing courage. T'Chaka had a blue cloth and bronze atop his grave, symbolizing knowledge.
A tear rolled down T'Challa's cheek but was soon lost in the raindrops below him.
======================================================
T'Challa had tracked his father and uncle down to the capitol hall. There he saw the man with the rifle. Going through their clothing.
T'Challa - "STOP!"
The mercenary quickly got up but his rifle slipped in his hands that were full of rings and gold.
T'Challa charged at the mercenary. Tackling him, he threw the rifle across the room and slapped one of the mercenary's hands away, gold spilled across the floor into the blood.
T'Challa - "You aren't leaving this place. NOT TODAY!"
T'Challa got up, grabbing a sword off of the wall decoration. The mercenary pulled out a knife, lunging towards T'Challa. T'Challa grabbed his arm and swept him across the floor. The mercenary put on the rings he had stolen that were still in his other hand along with wrapping golden necklaces around his knuckles.
T'Challa ran at the mercenary again, dipping beneath a punch and turning to face the mercenary's back. With a mighty swing. He cut off the mercenary's arm.
The mercenary dropped onto his rifle. T'Challa stand above him. Ready to strike the final blow. He doesn't notice as Shuri stands across the hall, the mercenary aims his sight at her brain. T'Challa kicks the gun as he fires. Shuri falls to the ground.
T'Challa cries as he slams his sword into the ground, missing the mercenary entirely. He runs to Shuri.
T'Challa is a child again, running through the fields to find his sister, laying on the ground, in these games they always played. She would jump up to scare T'Challa. He felt a sense of relief that she wasn't lost.
But as T'Challa slid to her side, she did not jump and giggle like she did as a child. She only laid, a gash had occupied the side of her head. T'Challa pressed his fingers against it. Nothing deep, she was lucky the bullet grazed her.
T'Challa looked back in anger to find only an arm, a rifle, and a sword in the ground where the mercenary was.
T'Challa screamed in anger as he lifted his sister up and ran to the family medic.
======================================================
T'Challa saw Shuri, a white bandage was stuck to the right side of her forehead. She looked up at T'Challa with a worried gaze.
T'Challa stepped back up to the podium.
"Sorry for the fable... What I was trying to get to is that, though the two brothers had died, their spirits did not. They were not silenced by death. And we as a people, must stand together and not be silent. We have rebuilt, and in the name of my father T'Chaka, and his brother S'yan, along with the 438 names of our family that had died. We will be aware. We will be strong. And WE!? WE WILL BE WAKANDA! We will be higher than the crimes that were committed against us, and we will stand for the nation that was not crippled. But withstood tragedy!"
T'Challa folded his speech and went to his seat, but only one thing was on his mind that moment forward... Vengeance.
===================== END =======================
I'm really not sure if I want this to be an app or a one-off thing. I just enjoyed writing it.
