Brownlow Hill Loop Road.

Governor Lachlan Macquarie on 11th January 1815 undertook an inspection of another station along Mount Hunter Creek to Brownlow.

It was originally named Lowe’s Hill and in response to a request from Commissioner Bigge Governor Macquarie would in 1820 change the name from Lowe’s Hill to Brownlow Hill to honour Commissioner Bigge’s friend Lord Brownlow.

In the mid 1820’s Peter Murdoch who had accompanied Macquarie was granted 809 hectares (2,000 acres) to the north-west of Mount Hunter.
