Abacus.

In the golden age before calculators mathematical calculations were undertaken by the use of an abacus.

 

This abacus can be found in Glenalvon Historic House.

 

Glenalvon is today one of the finest examples of a colonial Georgian townhouse in New South Wales.

 

The house was built in 1841 by Michael Byrne.

 

Located at 8 Lithgow Street, Campbelltown Glenalvon is owned by the Campbelltown City Council and is the home of the Campbelltown & Airds Historical Society.

 

The house is open for inspection:

1st Monday, 2nd & 4th Saturday.
