Trunk Test Panel

Seen here is a technican using the Trunk Test Panel to test trunks.

Using this panel a specific trunk (TNN) could be brought up then tests could be performed on the trunk from reading battery & ground to measuring transmission loss.

Other tests could also be performed. For example if you suspected a faulty relay on a trunk pack codes could be keyed into the number pad to exercise a specific relay. One could then go to the trunk circuit and see if the relay (and frame relay matrix) was in fact operating and releasing. As technology moved forward with the trunk frames getting smaller and smaller and replacing relays with solid state devices and the trunk packs getting smaller these tests was less usefull.
