#MacroMondays

#Brush

One last, desperate attempt at getting at least a decent image for our "Brush" theme (after spending half of the afternoon trying to make a tiny brush, made for small bottles with thin necks, look like a Christmas tree).

I've photographed this toothbrush (exclusively bought for macro photography) once before in high-key for a past "Pastel" theme (please see the first comment). And if that was the "A Night At The Opera" version, this low-key attempt is the "A Day At The Races" variant. Or so.

To get extra close, I mounted the Laowa 50mm 2x macro lens, which also means it's a single shot. Illuminated mostly from above with my natural light photo lamp and, stupidly, also from the right with one of the LED lamps, which explains the slight colour change on the right because that lamp casts a more yellowish light. But I didn't want to take yet another photo. I left the protection cap on the brush because I thought it added "something" to the scene.

Since from this POV, the toothbrush's handle was in the way, I glued it onto the table tripod's head (with modelling clay) to get a little more stability (and stabilised the brush's head with my hand). I pointed the camera slightly down to get a good view of the colourful bristles. That's it.

HMM, Everyone!
