Or: The flying-saucerisation of a profane (and not 100% hazard-free) cosmetics tool. Destination: Venus 🚀
My first approach was to "mystify" the refill blade by getting extra close to my subject with the Laowa 2x Ultra macro lens, but to my surprise (or maybe not so surprising at all), I didn't find any mystery the closer I got.
So I decided to stick to my second idea: trying to make it look futuristic, like a starship of sorts. So I experimented with my improvised colour filters and the handheld flashlight (to highlight the blades). I did in-camera focus stacking, but combined the final images in Helicon Focus because this usually yields slightly better results than the in-camera combined JPG.
So, does this look like a flying saucer? Maybe not even remotely, but I think it looks a little futuristic anyway (after all, even Captain Picard needs to shave every morning), and it also reminds me of a brooch.
