Wild Rudolph
More from the recent walk at the Rudolph Wilde Park in Berlin's Schöneberg district. This is on top of the historical Subway station building that you can see in my previous photo (which you can also find in the first comment). I took it just before we walked down the stairs to the duck pond, where I found the selfie graffiti on the handrail.
While the sky had been positively wild on that sunny day, the mood was relaxed and peaceful, families were out and about, and everybody enjoyed the warmth. Berlin has a rather unflattering reputation of being pretty harsh, rough, and rude, that goes back as far as the days of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who stated after a visit (his only visit) to Berlin in May 1778 that "In Berlin, there are such gruffy people that one doesn't get far with delicacy, but needs a sharp tongue, and sometimes must be a little rude to keep one's head above water." Which is what we Berliners call "with heart and attitude". Really, Berliners aren't that terrible ;)
On that note, peace, dear Flickr friends, and have a nice 1st of May :)
