Choice... Once again, I couldn't decide between three different final candidates. Ultimately, I picked this (and I have no idea what was once meant to be plugged into this old mainboard socket). Next to it, there's the HDMI graphic card socket of which I had photographed the pins but thought the latter was a little too abstract. The third candidate was the pins of my old E-M5's extra grip that assure the shutter button on the grip is fully functional. That turned out nicely, so I will upload it, maybe tonight or Wednesday, but for that specific subject it was debatable whether the part on the grip is the socket or the corresponding part on the camera.
This nicely purple-coloured socket (above it, there also is a green one) immediately reminded me of a skull of sorts. And the movie character Jason Voorhees of the Friday the 13th horror franchise also came to mind, although I have never seen a single movie of that series. I assume it's because of the holes reminiscent of Jason's mask. I realise I cut myself off a possible subject for a future Halloween photo, but so what. Here it is ;)
The image is an in-camera processed focus stacking (15 photos). I did pre-de-dusting with a brush and post-de-dusting in Photoshop and used the primary colour sliders in LR to bring out the colours.
HMM, Everyone!
