A subject I've already showcased several times here on Flickr: the beautiful Schloss Charlottenburg (Charlottenburg Palace), located in the Berlin borough of Charlottenburg – the castle was there first, so the borough was named after the castle, not the other way round. Charlottenburg Palace was built between 1695 and 1791 – in several construction phases – in baroque and rococo styles. From 1701 until 1888 it served as a summer residence for the Prussian kings. In 1697, the huge palace garden (of which you can see only a small part here) was designed by Siméon Godeau in French Baroque style, and later, in 1819, Peter Joseph Lenné redisigned the garden in English landscape style. The palace complex, which was severely damaged during the Second World War, was faithfully reconstructed through the personal efforts of West Berlin art historian Margarete Kühn. Since 1990, the entire ensemble is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This image, which I've photographed with the tiny Laowa "C-Dreamer" 7.5 ultra wide-angle lens, simply yelled for some slider action for Sliders Sunday, especially with those picture-perfect drama clouds that we'd had on that sunny day back in May '19. It may be a little too much on the colourful side, but for me, monochrome (or a more desaturated look) didn't work here. I tried both, also several tintings, but wasn't really happy with either.
HSS, Everyone, and stay safe and healthy!
