I don't know what it is, but at the moment I always seem to be lost in space whenever it comes to MMs. Low-key? With a touch of sci-fi and "I don't know what I'm looking at?!?" It must be Macro Mondays ;-) OK, the latter usually is: You don't know what you're looking at (because I know what I photographed, of course), but not this time, because this time you know it's a lid. A section of a plastic lid of a small food container that happens to be of a slightly translucent, dark blue with tiny sparkling particles, to be precise. That the lid is semi-translucent and thus would make a possibly interesting subject for this week's theme is another Sunday breakfast discovery ;-) And when I put my small LED flashlight right behind the lid after breakfast (my "photo studio" happens to be right next to the breakfast / lunch / dinner table), I noticed that the flashlight's glow and the lid's grooved (??? I'm not sure about the correct term here) rim looked like a planet with rings; and those sparkling particles made for nice stars. So I was all set ;-) I do hope, however, that some of the next MM themes will lead me into a (visually) lighter direction, as I really don't want to bore you with an endless array of space-themed low-key images...
Backlit with an LED flashlight, and I used a second LED lamp to highlight those sparkles. Processing was simple here, I enhanced the details in Luminar 4, increased the saturation and luminosity of the "planet", applied a LUT filter ("Keen", I think) in ON1 Photo Raw 2019 and added a vignette in Analog Efex. The usual suspects.
A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone!
