...in the cherry tree :-)

I guess that someone must have thrown this... what is it, a toy?... into this cherry tree. There were two boys merrily jumping around the tree, trying to get that thing down, but judging from the conversation their parents had it had not been thrown up there by one of the boys. The father could have easily grabbed it, as he was fairly tall, but I don't know if he did. I quickly took my capture and walked on ;-)
Taken at the annual Hanami festival at the TV-Asahi-Kirschblütenallee (TV Asahi Cherry Blossom Alley) which is located on the former border strip between the (former West-)Berlin borough Lichterfelde-Süd, and the (former GDR) small town Teltow. The Cherry Blossom Alley was initiated by the Japanese TV station TV Asahi to celebrate the German reunification in 1990. TV Asahi's viewers donated more than one million Euros for the so called "Sakura Campaign". Between 1990 and 2010 more than 10.000 Japanese cherry trees were planted not only on this former border strip between Berlin and Brandenburg, but in other places in Berlin and Brandenburg as well which were particularly affected by the German division. Each year, on the last Sunday of April, the Hanami festival is celebrated along the Cherry Blossom Alley. This year the trees were in full bloom.
Wer weiß, wie dieses Dingens (ein Ball, aber mit Armen?; ein Spielzeug vermutlich...) in den Kirschbaum gekommen ist... wahrscheinlich hineingeworfen. Jdf. standen zwei Jungs mit ihren Eltern vor dem Baum und versuchten, mit ausgefeilter Sprungtechnik, an das Dingens heranzukommen, das sie, dem Gespräch der Eltern nach zu urteilen, aber wohl auch nur dort gefunden, nicht aber hineingeworfen hatten. Der Vater hätte es ohne Weiteres herunterpflücken können, ob er es getan hat, weiß ich nicht. Ich habe mein Foto gemacht und bin weitergelaufen ;-).
Aufgenommen auf dem Mauerweg / dem ehemaligen Grenzstreifen zwischen Berlin und Teltow. Hier (und an anderen Orten entlang der deutsch-deutschen Grenze zwischen Berlin und Brandenburg) wurden zwischen 1990 und 2010 mehr als 10.000 japanische Kirschbäume gepflanzt. Es gibt hier das Japaneck und die TV-Asahi-Kirschblütenallee. Hintergrund: Der japanische Fernsehsender TV Asahi rief 1990, aus Freude über die Deutsche Wiedervereinigung, die "Sakura Campaign" ins Leben, in deren Rahmen die Zuschauer des Senders über einen Million Euro für die Pflanzung der Bäume spendeten. Jedes Jahr findet hier, zwischen Berlin-Lichterfelde und Teltow, am letzten Sonntag im April das Hanami-Fest statt, 2018 zum 17. Mal. Dieses Jahr waren die Bäume in voller Blüte.
