It's Alive: A Flower for You

But *handle with care*, it's a chili pepper ;-).

In fact a variety called "Lila Luzi" ("Purple Lucy"), which turns purple when ripe. Since it's from my balcony and it is winter now, it did not finish its ripening process and stayed red. "Lila Luzi" isn't the hottest chili pepper, but it looks nice.

Inside you see the seeds which, once dried, could be used to grow a new chili plant.

The pepper/pod is about 1,8 cm / 0,708661 inches long.

I decided to "white-out" the background. For some reason I had used air cushion foil as a background, I guess I had hoped for a nice effect, but... ;-). Couldn't take another shot on Monday, as by then the pepper had dried and the ones from my fridge were the regular long Thai chilies, so I had to go with what I already had ;-).

Happy Macro Monday everyone!
