ALIGARH December 29: The Silver Jubilee Alumni Meet of 1p986-87 batch
of Zakir Husain College of Engineering and technology, Aligarh Muslim
University was organized here today. A large number of alumni gathered
at the lawns of the Engineering College and were excited to see each
other after a gap of twenty five years.
The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. (Retd.)
Zameer Uddin Shah said that he was extremely proud of the achievements
of alumni of this premier institution. He said that the networking of
all alumni is a very important factor in achieving the goal. He
suggested to prepare a Directory of old boys and re-activate the
alumni network.
General Shah said that he was trying to build up this institution as a
‘Green University’. He said that improving the medical facilities and
raising the standard of University maintained schools are among his
top priorities. He said that his goal is to achieve the number one
position for this University.
In his welcome address, Mr. Kaushal Kumar, an alumnus of 1986 batch,
said that several of his batch mates held key positions in government
and private enterprises and helped in making the event successful. He
said that the details of the alumni present in the function have been
recorded for future correspondence.
Mr. Kaushal Kumar said that the Silver Jubilee Alumni Meet will
provide a forum for the alumni so that they can be in touch with their
Alma mater and also with each other. He suggested to utilize the
expertise and resources of alumni for all round development of the
College and to create opportunities for the present as well as past
students through interaction with resourceful alumni.
He also urged to utilize the expert services of alumni in academic and
administrative reforms.
Mr. Faraz Ahmad, final year student of Electrical Engineering made a
power point presentation “Yadein 1986-87 with Milestones of Success
1986 Onwards”.
Prof. Tabassum Naqvi, Training and Placement Officer, Zakir Husain
College of Engineering and Technology urged the alumni to play a
proactive role in the upgradation of curricula. She urged the
engineering alumni to help gain better job prospects to the present
students.
Mr. Bhavesh Gupta proposed a vote of thanks. He appreciated the role
of faculty for helping them make a fortune.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Brigadier S. Ahmad Ali, Dean, Faculty of
Engineering and Technology, Prof. Hamid Ali and Principal, Z. H.
College of Engineering, Prof. Ekram Husain also graced the occasion.
