Sh. Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, Member of Parliament & Former Union
Minister, Govt. of India was the part of delegation of Indian MPs who
assembled in Islamabad for Pakistan-India Parliamentarians Dialogue. Indian
and Pakistani parliamentarians on Tuesday discussed ways to improve trade
and economic relations between the two countries. At the Pakistan-India
Parliamentarians' Dialogue-III in Islamabad, the MPs from both countries
agreed that they had a major role to play in influencing their governments
to take a leap forward to normalise bilateral relations, the Online news
agency reported.
The 15-member multi-party delegation from India arrived in
Pakistan on Monday. Two rounds of dialogues were earlier held in January
2011 in Islamabad and in August 2011 in New Delhi.
The Indian delegation comprises MPs representing major political parties of
India from both houses of the Indian Parliament. Lok Sabha members joining
the delegation include Mr. Yashwant Sinha (BJP); Syed Shahnawaz Hussain,
(BJP); Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMEM); Mr. Baijayant Jay Panda (BJD); Mr.
Deepender Hooda, (Congress); Mr. Hamdullah Sayeed (Congress); Mr.
Shatrughan Sinha (BJP); Ms. Supriya Sadanand Sule (NCP) and Mr. Bhartruhari
Mahtab (BJD). Indian MPs from the Rajya Sabha include Mr. Mani Shankar
Aiyar, (Congress); Mr. NK Singh (JDU); Mr. P Rajeeve (CPIM); Mr. Derek
O'Brien and Mr. Rajniti Prasad (RJD).
Parliamentarians from India and Pakistan can play a key role in
facilitating the dialogue process and conflict resolution on mutually
acceptable and advantageous considerations.
The Pakistan-India Parliamentarians Dialogue-III got concluded in Islamabad
on January 18, 2012 i.e. today.
