living room wall sconces with flash 45deg RIGHT of camera @ 7.5ft high (about level with top of sconces), approx 8ft (or less - see note below) from sconces, camera position approx 7 ft from wall, flash @ 1/16, 24mm, camera @ 1/250 & f5.0.

 

Note: I notice the shadows here are much darker than the shots with flash left of the camera. i believe the distance of the flash to the wall was actually slightly closer than the left position shots.

 

does this make sense of what i'm seeing? dS.
