laparoscopy view of the Ovary and Fallopian tube
In this photo, provided by Dr. Layyous, we have a laparoscopic view of one of the ovaries and the Fallopian tube. These anatomical structures are an important part of female anatomy necessary for fertility and conception. Laparoscopy is a type of surgical procedure in which a small incision is made, usually via the navel, through which a viewing tube (laparoscope) is inserted. This access allows doctors to examine abdominal and pelvic organs on a monitor. Other small incisions can then be made to insert instruments or to perform surgical procedures.
