St. Mary's Church, Ware

St. Mary's church in Ware, Hertfordshire, was enlarged during the 15th century by Margaret Beaufort, Henry VII's mother. Another royal lady, Joan of Kent, mother of king Richard II, rebuilt the even older church in 1380! Joan of Kent was the wife of Edward the Black Prince, and was popularly known as 'the fair maid of Kent'.
