Andrea Carr
1985 Clubbing Mixtape
Apparently I made this mixtape on 24 March 1985, probably to collate tracks I'd enjoyed in nightclubs like Do-Dos, Taboo and the Playground.
The tracklisting reminds me that in the early days of clubbing, dance music didn't really exist. Instead, we relied on Boyztown, Motown, disco and other musical ephemera. Do-Dos always started the evening off with 'Me & Mrs Jones', I've no idea why.
TRACK LISTING
1. Divine: I'm so Beautiful
2. Divine: Native Love
3. Divine: You Think You're a Man
4. Divine: Shake It Up
5. Divine: Shoot Your Shot
6. Divine: Love Reaction
7. Divine: Jungle Jezebel
8. Divine: Alphabet Rap
9. The Surprise Sisters: La Booga Rooga
10. Dead or Alive: You Spin Me Round (12")
11. Beegees: Stayin' Alive
12. Bronski Beat: Why?
