Red Hibiscus Flower In The Light
I photographed this flower this morning in our garden under overcast skies. I used camera settings that caused the background to go quite dark, and where there were unwanted branches in the picture, I painted them out using the black paintbrush in Photoshop.
Lighting: The main light was a Yongnuo manual flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box at camera left. Details in the darkest part of the flower were lit with a 2nd Yongnuo flash in a Rogue grid. The two strobes and my tripod mounted camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.
Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant set. For each image in the set, and there are over 1800 of them, I describe how I set up the lighting for that particular shot. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157628079460544/
