Pink And Orange Epiphyllum On Mother's Day-
Yesterday my wife and I attended the annual Mothers' Day Show put on by the San Diego Epiphyllum Society in Balboa Park. My wife has been growing epiphyllums for quite a few years, and we always go to the show when we're in town.
Lighting stuff: With all of the people attending the show it's too crowded to do a proper lighting setup with light stands and soft boxes and a tripod mounted camera. My wife hand held the Yongnuo flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box so that we could get separation from the background while I hand held the camera. For this picture the light was positioned out of the frame at camera right at about 4 o'clock and the flash was at half power.
Over the years, I've taken quite a few "Epi" pictures, and they're in my Epiphyllum Flowers album, if you like that sort of thing.

Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant set. For each image in the set, and there are over 1300 of them, I describe how I set up the lighting for that particular shot. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157628079460544/
