Shapes And Patterns In An Old Leaf
Now that it's officially autumn, I think it's appropriate to post a picture of an old leaf that has warm colors. This came from our fruitless mulberry tree, and soon there will be literally thousands of them on the ground.
Lighting: Lit with a Yongnuo flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box hand held on the right side at 2 o'clock. Fill light came from a hand held mirror at camera left at 8 o'clock. The flash and my tripod mounted camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N. Using side lighting creates the shadows that reveal shapes and textures.
I find leaves to be beautiful objects from nature and have an album of over 60 pictures of them if you like that sort of thing. Here's the link to the album.
