Sea Shell All Curled Up
This shell has been weathering out in a rock garden, and I brought it inside to photograph where it's easier to control the light. I don't know the name of this shell as shell identification is a vast dark continent of ignorance in my world.
I first placed the shell on a piece of black Perspex, and then used side lighting with a Yongnuo flash in a 24 inch soft box on either side of the shell. I like side lighting when I want to create the shadows that reveal shapes and textures. The strobes and my camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.
Other shell pictures that I've taken are in my creatively titled Shells album.
