The Attack Of The Red Baron
I was at Santee Lakes the other day, and I was concentrating on photographing the Blue Darter when the much larger Flame Skimmer swooped down and snatched the Blue Darter, and tried to fly off with it. The Blue Darter then returned to this same perch and carried on as if nothing had happened. I have no idea what happened, but it is mating season in the dragonfly world, so it could have been anything.

I do quite a bit of photography at Santee Lakes as they have great birds and dragonflies, plus it looks great in infrared. Also, it's relatively close to my house. Other pictures from Santee Lakes are in my Santee Lakes album.
