"The conflict in Palestine, which is now in its fifth week, has reached a stalemate. Both the Palestinian and British armed forces have suffered losses; a current estimate places the numbers of Palestinian dead including civilians at 700. The British forces have suffered lighter casualties, a total of 23 UNIST Servicemen and British Personnel since the start of the war. Even so, these numbers are a heavy blow to the British people - more servicemen have been killed in five weeks of fighting than in months during the Iraq and Afghanistan operations of the 2000's. Negotiations between the Prime Minister and Palestinian officials have not yet been concluded. There is discussion of a cease fire to take effect in order to allow the PM and Palestinian Officials to speak in person." - BBC News.
