Il sito si trova appena si arriva all’ingresso della città di Orvieto, nelle vicinanze del Pozzo di San Patrizio e poco prima di Piazza Cahen. In una zona ombrosa e ricca di verde con una piacevole passeggiata che segue il perimetro della rupe, si trovano i resti di un antico tempio etrusco denominato del Belvedere. Di esso sono ancora ben visibili la pianta, la scalinata di accesso ed alcune parti delle fondamenta. Il resto del tempio, probabilmente costruito con parti lignee, è andato perduto nel tempo. Gli antichi fregi della struttura sono invece tutt’oggi visibili nell’area espositiva del Museo Civico Archeologico Faina.
The site is located as soon as you arrive at the entrance to the city of Orvieto, near the Pozzo di San Patrizio and just before Piazza Cahen. In a shady and green area with a pleasant walk that follows the perimeter of the cliff, there are the remains of an ancient Etruscan temple called Belvedere. Of it are still well visible the plan, the staircase of access and some parts of the foundations. The rest of the temple, probably built with wooden parts, has been lost in time.
