Il gruppo statuario il papa e cardinali (1634) è opera degli scultori Giovanni e Melchiorre d'Enrico (i Righi); le altre statue del 1662 sono di Dionigi Bussola. Gli affreschi del pittore Antonio Maria Crespi, detto "il Bustino" furono conclusi nel 1629.
Quanto il gruppo di frati raggiunse il numero di dodici (come gli apostoli), si presentò al Papa Innocenzo III, per sottoporre il proprio stile di vita ed averne l'approvazione; per l'austerità dei propositi, il papa inizialmente ebbe qualche titubanza, successivamente li approvò.
The chapel was built in the period 1619-1623.
The group of statues pope and cardinals (1634) is the work by the sculptors Giovanni e Melchiorre d'Enrico (Righi); the other statues (1662) are by Dionigi Bussola. The frescoes by the painter Antonio Maria Crespi, called "Bustino" were finished in 1629.
When the group of friars arrived at the number of twelve (like the apostles), it presented itself to the pope Innocent III to present their own style of life and obtain his approval; due to the austerity of the aims, the Pope initially had some hesitancy, but he approved them afterwards.
