Redridge steel dam from the road.
This is a very rare type of dam. It's the largest of only 3 steel dams ever built in the USA. It was built to supply water for the Atlantic and Baltic copper stamp mills about 1/4 mile away on Lake Superior. This way they didn't have to pump water out of Superior. Water flowed by gravity from the reservoir the the mills. Circa 1901.
