Down to nowhere

Under a clear blue sky, "Vulcan", a 44/48 HP Ruston (w/n 198287, built 1940) trundles along with a demonstration freight during the "Military Trains" weekend at the Apedale Valley Light Railway. It was delivered new to the Air Ministry, being given the identity "A.M.W. 197", but is perhaps best known for its residency on the much missed Abbey Light Railway at Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds. When that site closed, it moved to the Embsay Narrow Gauge Project, but has now moved to the care of the Moseley Railway Trust and looks wonderful. Monday, 29th May 2023
