RH 191658/1938

Looking like a brand new locomotive compared to how I previously saw this locomotive 3 years previously. Now nearly 90 years old, this 25/30 HP Ruston worked for Lytham St. Annes Borough Council, employed on a project to extend the Outer Promenade at St. Annes. The Second World War stopped that project. but the loco remained with the works department till the early 1960s, being used as required on engineering works around those Lancashire resort towns. By 1963 the loco was to be found at the Friden works of DSF Refractories, in the Peak District. It looks perfectly at home now, in the rustic setting of the Apedale Valley Light Railway's field railway. Saturday 25th June 2022.
