Mr. Jonathan Harrison (CDV by Sarony, Sarony Square, Scarborough)

A label on the back in pencil says Mr. John Harrison and it was included with the photo of Lane House, a photo of Mrs. Harrison, and photos of two children named May and Maude Harrison. I'm guessing this is Jonathan Harrision.

Jonathan Harrison was born circa 1837 in Brandesburton, Yorskshire, England, the son of William C. Harrison (1809 - 9 December 1897) and Mary Harrison (which appears to have been her maiden name). Jonathan was married to Charlotte (maiden name unknown), and they would have at least eight children--Charlotte M., Maude Katherine, William C.W., Edna Margaret, Dorothy Mary, Cecil, Helen Beatrice, and Evelyn Lois Harrison. In 1841, Jonathan was living with his parents in North Frodingham, Yorkshire, where his father was a significant land holder and farmer. In 1851, at the age of 14, he was boarded out for his education at Holybourne. By 1861 Jonathan was back with his parents; Jonathan was listed as farming 420 acres. By 1871 Jonathan was the head of his own house, married and with four children, and was farming 500 acres in the Brandesburton area; he employed 15 people on the farm, including seven servants. By 1881 he was farming 770 acres, and employed 18 people, including six servants. In 1891, he was still living in the Brandesburton area, was listed as a farmer/merchant, had four daughtes and a son living with him, but employed only three servants; in 1901, it was Jonathan, Charlotte, and three unmarried daughters. In the 1911 census, he was living in Lane House in Moortown, Brandesburton, with the occupation of farmer; he had been widowed and was living with Charlotte M. and Dorothy May Harrison, both unmarried. It is not clear whether it was a sign of declining fortunes, but there were nine female students, ranging from 16 to 28, boarding at Lane House. I have not found a death date for Jonathan.
