Unfortunately, the color of the fiddleheads is rather muddy - at least on the Maidenhair ferns it is. Even the leaves are rather subdued, until it unfurls, and then it's an explosion of vibrancy!
I've misplaced my close-up filter which is so frustrating - I cleaned out my camera bag before the trip to Vegas this spring, and now I can't find the filter anywhere! So, this was taken with the 55mm macro lens which is manual, unfortunately.
If it looks fuzzy, just squint. That's what I do!! :)
Rather impetuously decided that this is my entry for the Flickr64 challenge, final four. Up against SophieG* who will undoubtedly blow me away with her magical view of the world.
