Cairncross' Loss of Privacy- E-commerce. According to Bortiz and No (2011) “Most e-commerce companies collect, store, and exchange personal information obtained from individuals and use that information to support marketing strategies, gain greater insights into individuals’ behavior, and meet their needs and wants more effectively” (p. 12). However e-commerce companies will often take more information than required which results in the consumer's loss of privacy. Like in the picture, they can't "keep their hands out of the cookie jar"
