Midland Hotel @ Morecambe c1945 [painting]

Water colour painting of the fabulous seafront Art Deco-style Midland Hotel and promenade at Morecambe, Lancashire, England. The hotel was built in 1933 by the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (L.M.S.) as their showcase hotel, facing the sea on one side and their Morecambe Promenade Railway Station on the other.

Scan of a Valentine's post card sent from Morecambe by my mother to her mother in June 1945 (postage 2d...two old pennies).

Inscriptions on the back:

"From an original water colour by Brian Gerald", and...

"Let us all strive without failing in faith or in duty" from 'The Prime Minister'
