This picture arranges the elements in several visually appealing ways. The first thing that the viewer notices is the striking line of pointy, neon orange cones. Their heavily saturated color stands out amongst the mainly neutral backround, creating a nicely emphasized focal point. These cones follow th erule of thirds; they sit on one of the imaginary lines that the picture would be divided into. The thickest tree also does this. Where the thick tree and the line of cones interesect followsthe rule of thirds very well. Furthmore, to take this picture, I crouched down low against the ground in order to capture the contrasting gritty and glassy textures, the details of the jaggedly shaped rocks, the darker values of gray on the undersides of the rocks, and the intense reflection of the trees in the patch of floodwater. The reflection creates a strong sense of movement and rhythm by making the viewer's eyes travel along the lines of the tree branches sprawling out in different directions. I wish that my photo didn't have all of the clutter behind the trees on the road in the backround. It also would have been nice to show more of the reflection of the bright row of cones in the water.
