El Mar Bowl closed in December 2020 and has been sold to a developer. Around April 19, 2021 the property was surrounded by the teardown fence.
The south west corner of the building was occupied by PJ’s Drive In.
Update August 2021 - Demolition is underway, but appears to be slow going. Several men were sitting outside the fence picketing and had “On Strike” signs in hand. The Inflatable Rat is on site too.
