House of Doors, Brookfield, Illinois.

A new House of Doors sign now hangs on the building. Compare it to the day shot (below) and you can see the changes in the wording.

The Acme-Wiley Signs Co. logo was originally underneath the word Commercial, but does not appear on the new panel.

New sign made by Grate Signs.

I have never seen a night shot of this sign. The neon was broken when I first photographed it 11 years ago.

The Barcol word no longer appears on the top panel. The Barcol Overdoor Company, was a division of Barber-Coleman, based in Rockford, Illinois. The Barcol Overdoor manufacturing facility was in Sheffield, Illinois.
