Station with a view
Liège-Guillemins railway station, designed by Santiago Calatrava. It is one of the most important hubs in the country and is one of the four Belgian stations on the high-speed rail network. The station is used by many people every day, which makes it the eleventh-busiest station in Belgium and the third in Wallonia.
The station is made of steel, glass, white concrete and Belgian bluestone, and has a monumental roof of 160 m long and 35 m high. The date of completion was originally scheduled for April 2006. Finally, the festive opening of the station took place on Friday, September 18, 2009.
