1991 Vauxhall Astra Belmont 1.4 L (one owner)
You could have knocked me down with a feather when I saw this. My ultimate goal when I started car spotting was to find an Astra Belmont. The Mk2 Astra is my favourite 80s/90s car and whilst I knew there was a MK2 hatchback locally which is on my stream, I always wanted to find a Belmont.
So you can imagine my delight when I saw this; a basic spec, totally original one owner example finished in silver and fitted with the original wheel trims and Reg Vardy dealer plates, probably bought from the Peterlee showroom. Despite a little bit of rust on the arches, this was in a tremendous honest condition; not concourse but all the better for it. I'm a little gutted that the shadows have detracted from the image sadly, but nevertheless you can see what a lovely car this is. At last MOT last April it was showing 81,860 miles and despite failing it's MOT every year since 2007 the owner has kept it going. Long may it live!
