Embrace Life: Taiwan medical mission in Burkina Faso (2)

With great commitment, Taiwan doctors focus their efforts on the screening, prevention, and treatment of disease. Their research work has produced unexpected results, which, no longer limited to Taiwan, has brought benefit to people around the world.

The main goal of Taiwan's medical establishment is, of course, ensuring hte health of the nation's 23 million people. From public hygiene to the treatment of the disease, Taiwan has established a comprehensive helath system. Moreover, with a medical network that ensures the balanced distribution of medical resources, everyone, whether rich or poor, uban or rural, has access to medical prefessionals dedicated to his or her health needs.

With access to this comprehensive medical establishment and health insurance program, which offer high-quality treatments without undue financial worries, patients in Taiwan are indeed fortunate compared with those in many other parts of world.

Medical treatment is a very direct way to provide aid to others, so humanitarian aid always includes a medical component. From the first launching of international medical aid programs by the Red Cross, numerous new Western non-governmental aid organizations have emerged and, recently, the number of such organizations in Taiwan has also started to grow rapidly.

Taiwan is willing to contribute more to the global health network, so please support Taiwan to participate in the World Health Organization.
