Afterburning Turbofan Engine

 

At the end of the 1970s, FN Moteurs joined a European co-production consortium to build the Pratt & Whitney F100 turbojet engine powering the latest-generation F16 aircraft. For this major program, a brand-new factory was inaugurated at Les Hauts-Sarts site (Herstal) in 1979. This plant now belongs to Safran Aero Boosters.
