A prototype of the Tatra T603 first appeared in 1955 and a year later the T603-1 was introduced. In the time between 1956 and 1975 this model was built in 3 different versions : the T603-1 with 3 headlamps, the T603-2 sported 4 headlamps and finally there was the T603-3, which had disk brakes. In total 20.422 cars were produced.
