Volkswagen Brezel Käfer - 1950

We are in the '50s. Europe is still recovering from WW2. An atmosphere of euphoria reigns and people are discovering new freedoms : paid holidays and trips, television, first steps in the consumer society, growing influence from the United States, new styles of music,....

In this atmosphere of freedom, the car plays a major role, with the VW Beetle as the most iconic model. It more than lives up to its role for which it was originally designed : that of the people's car.

It could accommodate a whole family, was cheap, basic and indestructible. 21.529.464 models were built, with the final one not coming off the production line until 2003.
