Saab 98 Concept - 1974

A few years after the release of the Saab 99, a new project called XI4 was launched. The idea, designed by Björn Envall, was to mix a comfortable family car with a station wagon. The prototype built by Caggiola in Italy, was named Saab 98 and had the same chassis as the Saab 95 from 1974. However, the company management chose not to put the car into production because there was already a family car on the market, namely the Saab 99C.
