Saab 95 Concept - 1959

The Saab 95 estate car was launched in 1959. The red car in the museum is one the first prototypes - a blend of the Saab 93 (the rear-hinged doors) and the as yet unlaunched Saab 96 (engine and dashboard). During the early years the Saab 95 was yet to be fitted with the characteristic air deflector at the rear of the roof to guide the air downwards and minimize fouling of the rear window.
